I have a confession: I am a Paldeck completionist, and in 2026 that still means chasing every shadow in Palworld. Fenglope was one of those entries that made me feel like a genius and a fool in the same afternoon. It looks simple on the map—a four-legged Neutral-type with antler-like horns and a noble trot—but the Alpha variant is not standing in a field waiting for a photo op. No, it is underground, and it knows exactly how to waste your time. Trust me, I learned that the hard way.

Where the Alpha Fenglope Hides

The Alpha Fenglope can be found in the southwestern part of the Bamboo Groves region, west of the Ravine Entrance fast travel waypoint. You will see it on your map after you pass the Broncherry Aqua boss location. You will know you are in the right area once you reach the Ascetic Falls waypoint.

Unlike the majority of other Alpha bosses in Palworld, the Alpha Fenglope is actually hiding underground. From the Ascetic Falls fast travel point, go through the waterfall to find a hidden tunnel entrance. Continue following this tunnel to find the Fenglope hiding inside the Falls Mineshaft. Use a flying mount to find and reach this spot more quickly. I cannot stress that enough—walking there with a ground mount feels like trying to run through wet cement.

Regular Fenglope Spawns

If the Alpha is being a drama queen and refusing to cooperate, you can try looking for regular Fenglopes on the southern beach of Mount Obsidian at the southwestern corner of the world map. There is also a wildlife sanctuary at the northeastern map corner, though going here is not recommended. Don't get me started on the guards there; they treat a simple Pal-watching trip like an international incident.

Fighting and Capturing the Alpha

If you are fighting the Alpha Fenglope, hit it with your best weapons and Pals, and chuck any mid-tier Pal Sphere at it for a quick and easy capture. The fight itself should not be hard as long as you pay attention to whom the Fenglope is targeting. Since Fenglope is a Neutral-type Pal, your best bet at fighting it is to use the Dark element against it. If you are near or at the same level as the boss, then you can finish this fight incredibly quickly by using Hoocrates and four Daedreams with the Daedream's Necklace unlocked at the Pal Gear Workbench.

I remember my first attempt: I brought a random pile of Pals, no Dark coverage, and a dream. The Fenglope looked at me like I was a mildly annoying houseguest. Long story short, I came back with a proper Dark squad and a pocket full of spheres, and the rematch lasted maybe twenty seconds.

Why Fenglope Is Still Worth It in 2026

Apart from being decent Neutral-type fighters, Fenglopes also work as decent early-game mounts. They are slightly faster than Eikthyrdeer when sprinting, and they can double jump as well. Plus, their horns do not obstruct your view as much while you are riding them. That last part matters more than you think. Nothing ruins a scenic flight—or a panicked escape—like a pair of horns blocking half your screen.

However, if you are feeling a need for speed, then it may be better to get a flying mount like a Vanwyrm or Helzephyr instead. Fenglope is a wonderful companion and a solid Paldeck entry, but it is not a private jet. It is more like a loyal, springy deer that happens to be very good at jumping over your problems.

So, if you are hunting the Alpha in 2026, pack Dark Pals, bring mid-tier spheres, and check behind the waterfall. The Fenglope will be waiting—smug, hidden, and absolutely convinced it is winning the game. ...
